This here’s a jam for those infertile,
Tryin’ to get pregnant has been futile.
Tempin’, chartin’, timin’, don’t work.
Tryin’ to be patient and not go berserk.
Okay ladies, go see an RE.
Sittin’ in the waitin’ room, wishin’ it’s free.
A nurse calls you in to do some tests.
You’re wonderin’ how its gonna go and what comes next.
Appointment two, you see a glint.
Discussin’ options, readin’ fine print.
IUI, IVF, FET,
Which one to try to be bringin’ home baby?
Too many misconceptions `bout this stuff,
As if tryin’ to have a child weren’t enough.
Wanna help others reach their zenith?
Then come on infertiles, just bust a myth!
April 24 – 30 is National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW). When I heard about one of Resolve’s NIAW challenges this year (thank you to The Ladies in Waiting Book Club for bringing it to my attention), I immediately thought of Young MC’s song called “Bust a Move.” I have always loved rap music, especially from the 80’s. I also get a kick out of re-writing words to songs and thought it would be fun to try doing that to help promote NIAW and this particular challenge.
I plan to participate in the Bust an Infertility Myth Blog Challenge and will be posting my entry here the week of April 24 – 30. If you haven’t already decided to join in, I encourage you to consider posting a myth buster on your blog or choosing another one of Resolve’s options for participating in their NIAW Challenge.
Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed my Young MC inspired rap song and will consider participating in one of Resolve’s Challenges this year.
Thank you also to those who have read and those who have commented on my 4th Blogoversary post. I appreciate your support and your thoughts on what I shared that I have learned from four years of blogging.
Lastly, I am hosting a book tour here on Four of a Kind (with author participation). The book is called Inconceivable: A Medical Mistake, the Baby We Couldn’t Keep and Our Choice to Deliver the Ultimate Gift by Carolyn and Sean Savage. You can read more about it and find out how to sign up in this post. I hope you will consider joining this book tour, as I think it will be a very interesting discussion.

I so miss you, my kindred spirit… it feels like I haven't been around as often, and I am sorry for that.
This stupid chemo thing is getting in the way of my blogging priorities…but I'm feeling good again, I have about 2 good weeks ahead of me so I will be by often to see you.
If only you had a map that lit up when I showed up…lol.
Michelle
