This literally took my breath away during the show open last night. This, and the tribute on SNL on Saturday night moved me to tears. We should know their names, their stories, to validate their young lives and help shoulder the pain.

Thank you for this. I’d seen it in my Twitter stream last night but didn’t have a chance to see it. I’m blown away.

I can’t watch this. It’s too much.
The name-remembering thing bothers me a little, I think. Because there are SO. MANY. CHILDREN. who die in urban areas and in war-torn countries every year from gun and gang violence, who are buried in small and sometimes unmarked graves, who are remembered only by their families. I wish that we could honor them, by naming them, in the same way.

I have always loved this song and found this tribute to be so touching.
It’s going to take me most of the rest of the night to recover from that one <3
