Two and a half months ago I wrote a post here asking you to “Life Up Your Hearts for Ray.”
It is with much joy that I get to share with you tonight,
RAY IS HOME!
About an hour ago Ray’s wife/my friend Amanda posted one of the most simple and unbelievably awesome status updates on Facebook that I have ever read. She wrote:
Listening to Ray’s voice fill our home
I can only imagine what the past three months have been like for Ray, Amanda and their three children. But knowing that somehow tonight they are all back together, and will be sleeping under one roof, their roof, and not in a hospital room, reminds me that miracles can happen.
Miracles do happen.
I know how much Ray and Amanda’s faith in God has helped them through this incredibly difficult and uncertain time in their lives. We may not always get the answers that we want, hope for and dream of when we pray, but sometimes really sick people, especially those we love and care about, do get better and get to come home.
Thank you so much to any and all of you that have sent peace, love, light, positive thoughts and prayers to Ray, Amanda, their children, their extended families, friends and especially all of the medical professionals who have been caring for and working with Ray.
Please continue to hold Ray, Amanda and their loved ones close in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come.
If you want to follow their journey from here, Ray will be taking over blogging about his progress and recovery.
Also, for those who want to and are able to help in a more tangible way, please consider making a donation here and/or buying tickets to a Raising for Ray 115 Bourbon Street Benefit that will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013.
Thank you again, I know how much everyone’s love, support and prayers mean to Ray, Amanda and their loved ones.
I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful and magical holiday season.
