Awhile back a man named Peter Combs tweeted to me and asked if I would be interested in participating in a new writing project that he was starting. We both have connections to the3six5 and though I never asked him, I assumed that is how he found me.

Peter’s idea was to get five writers to each take a day of the week, every week, for a year and all five would write about the same topic/answer the same question each week on their given day.

At first I was taken a back. I had never been contacted by a stranger like that before (that wasn’t clearly spam in my email inbox or the comments on my blog) and didn’t know what to think. I was honored to be asked, but also cautious about what his intentions might be. Most of all I wondered why, of all the people he came across on Twitter, me?

But Peter had good timing (in that I was looking for more opportunities like this/to write more) and I really liked his idea for what he calls The Today Voice.

So I took another leap of faith and accepted his invitation to be one of the five authors.

Today we launched The Today Voice and I invite you to click here and check it out.

I am Thursday’s Voice, so you will find me over there every Thursday for the next 52 weeks.

There are four other authors, including Peter, who will write on the same day every week. Though I didn’t know any of these writers before we began this project, I look forward to getting to know them and reading about their experiences and perspectives on The Today Voice in the year to come.

I appreciate your support as I begin this new writing adventure and encourage you to visit The Today Voice often to see what we are writing about and join the conversation, “5 voices, 52 weeks, 1 day at a time.”
