It’s the fourth Monday of the month which means its time to share our Perfect Moments from December with Lori from Write Mind Open Heart!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There have been so many perfect moments that I experienced this month celebrating the holiday season with our family and friends. However, I will just highlight one simple moment here that melted my heart on Christmas day. Yesterday morning Abby opened her present from Santa, it was a Disney Princess themed “play hut.” Her daddy quickly assembled it and she was very excited to explore it from the inside out. After looking at the hut, running around it and climbing in and out many times, Abby exclaimed:
“Cinderella and me have a castle!”
It was a truly perfect moment for me to see how much our daughter appreciates her gift and to witness the connection she made between our recent trip to Disney World, where we saw Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom, and her new toy. Abby feels like a princess playing in her very own “castle” and it gives me so much joy watching her relish in it!
Lori from Write Mind Open Heart says that “Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between.” I love the idea of being mindful of and blogging about perfect moments. In the past I have often used my blog more to write about things I am struggling with and though I know that is valid and important for me at times, I appreciate the idea of being intentional about also sharing the simple and very special moments in our lives. Many thanks to Lori for this idea, a wonderful opportunity to focus on what is right in our life, instead of what is wrong.
Thank you for reading. I hope that you have a wonderful week and that you are aware of, as well as able to notice, many perfect moments in your own lives.
Oh, that looks like such a wonderful present for a little girl! The wonderment in her eyes must be amazing to witness.
Thanks for sharing this with us! And I'm grateful for you and others who encourage me to continue being more and more mindful.
She really loves it…and the fact that she could relate it and connect it well to the recent trip.
I especially love it when a gift is well-received. It makes the giver happier than the recipient himself/herself. I am glad you gave her such a nice gift.
A perfect moment indeed. I love it too when our toddler is really happy with something he got – and it shows that sometimes just one perfect gift is enough – and I agree with St Elsewhere that it makes the giver almost happier than the receiver.
