in IVF #2 (second try)

I got the call a little while ago that I am to do my Ovidril (hCG) trigger shot tonight at 8:40 p.m. and that my egg retrieval (ER) will be at 8:40 a.m. on Thursday (August 2)! 🙂 I am so excited that we actually get to go through with this cycle!!! YAY!!! WAHOO!!! YIPEE!!! I know it doesn’t mean I will get pregnant or even that we will have any embryos to transfer, but it is one more step in the right direction and I am very happy about that! 🙂

We need to be there at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, which is interesting as our 1st IVF cycle I was scheduled at the same exact time (8:40 a.m.) and they had us arrive at 7:00 a.m. (one half hour earlier). I do recall us waiting around a lot that first time, so it is nice to be able to get there later this time. The nurse I spoke with thinks there is a good chance that we will have our RE (who is part of a practice group) do the procedure on Thursday! I am happy about that as, though the person who did last time, did a great job, she wasn’t our primary RE. I like the idea of our primary RE doing the procedures, when possible, as he was able to do our ET last time.

Well, that’s all for now, I may or may not check in between now and after the procedure on Thursday. But I will definitely post at some point on Thursday to let you know how many eggs they are able to retrieve! Thank you for your support, thoughts and prayers, as always!
