Have you finished your holiday shopping? Do you tend you plan ahead, wait to the last-minute, or somewhere in between?
If you have a gamer on your list, you may already know what a great resource GameStop is for gamers, parents of gamers, and trading in/buying used video games and other tech stuff. But in case you don’t or want to know more, read on…
When I was a tween I played Atari. I loved Pitfall and Frogger, to name a few “old school” video games. I never had any kind of handheld electronic game, unless you count Simon.
If you parent or care about a child between the ages of 4 and 18 +, odds are you know a gamer (a.k.a. someone who really enjoys playing video games).
For years I didn’t think it mattered where I shopped for video games, consoles, handhelds, etc. But the older and more into gaming our 11-year-old son Sean gets, the more I appreciate how helpful it can be to learn about the newest products and games from those who really know what they are talking about.
In many ways the world of gaming is like a foreign language to me and other adults (who choose to spent their time other ways). But the moment Sean and I enter Game Stop, everyone there seems to be speaking the language, especially the staff members.
So this holiday season, I know where I will be shopping for the gamers on our list, and I encourage you (especially if you aren’t sure exactly what to buy or what might be the best fit for the gamer in your life) to check out GameStop.
So what is on our gamer Sean’s wish list this year?
Sean is super into all things, Nintendo, Pokémon and Skylanders.
Since his birthday was in October, he has already received these from various loved ones (which can be found, along with some great deals) at Game Stop (click on the hyperlinks to check them out):
A PowerUp Rewards membership, which includes a monthly subscription to Game Informer, that Sean loves receiving and reading every month.
Last year for Christmas he was lucky enough to get this:
3DS XL game system
And this year he is asking us, Santa, and/or anyone else willing to help make his wishes come true for this:
Wii U game system
If you ask Sean today what he wants to be when he grow up, he will tell you that we wants to work for Nintendo and design video games. He even did his science fair project this year on how to make your own video game and did a great job!
Do you have a gamer in your life?
What are their favorite games and/or systems?
Have you been to GameStop?
What is your favorite thing about going there?
