This weekend has been wonderful, busy and at times bittersweet for my family and me.
We got to spend quality time and had a lot of fun with loved ones, some of whom we hadn’t seen in a while, at a family reunion.
In light of the family reunion, we didn’t spend much time in front of the TV or following what was happening in the news. However, we did hear about the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and all those whose loved ones died or were injured.
We also celebrated the birth of a baby boy, who will hopefully join our extended family soon via adoption. I ask that your thoughts and prayers be with the birth mother, the baby boy and the intended family who, if all continues goes well and (dare I say) as planned, will get to bring him home in the next week or so.
I look forward to sharing more about this story and the very special family, who hopes to care for and raise this baby boy, in the near future and appreciate your support and patience in the meantime.
In light of the events of this weekend, I will leave you with the lyrics of a song called Prayer for Peace by David Hass, that I learned many years ago when I was on a church retreat during college. Singing and meditating on the verses brings me peace and comfort during difficult and uncertain times in my life.
I wish you peace, love and light wherever and whenever this post finds you and in the days to come.
Prayer for Peace
Peace before us, peace behind us, peace under our feet.
Peace within us, peace over us, let all around us be peace.
Love before us, love behind us, love under our feet.
Love within us, love over us, let all around us be love.
Light before us, light behind us, light under our feet.
Light within us, light over us, let all around us be light.
Christ before us, Christ behind us, Christ under our feet.
Christ within us, Christ over us, let all around us be Christ.
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
Peace before us, peace behind us, peace under our feet.
Peace within us, peace over us, let all around us be peace.

Blessings to the family as they welcome their new addition into the family. Love the lyrics you posted. So beautiful and much needed after the tragic events. I just can’t turn on the tv now, it is too heartbreaking for me.
