The the word on blog street is that it’s International Blog Delurking Week (IBDW). So I am jumping on the bandwagon and inviting you to let me know that you are here.
As Mel explains in her blog post about IBDW:
It is fairly easy. Leave a comment in the comment section below admitting that you’re here. You can simply raise your hand and meekly admit that you’re here with a simple, one-word “here” comment; or you can proudly raise your hand and tell us all a bit about yourself (my preferred method). The point is that I want to know about the people who read me, since there is a huge discrepancy between the number of readers in actuality and the number of readers I actually know are reading.
So now it your turn…
Are you there readers?

P.S. I was excited and felt honored to find out yesterday that one of my recent blog entries (which I decided to cross-post on BlogHer earlier this week) was chosen to be featured on BlogHer in the Family and News & Politics sections. Here is the link to my post:
There is No “Normal” When a Baby Dies
I would love for you to read it (again or for the first time) and let me know your thoughts in the comment section over there too. Thank you!

Here and cold!
Heehee! You and I titled our delurking posts VERY similarly! My favorite thing to do during the winter is to have a snowball fight with my husband – then warm up in a hot shower together. 🙂
Thank you for commenting Tina. I am glad you are here and hope you warm up soon. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday! 🙂
dspence – I guess great minds think a like! Thanks for sharing your fun and steamy favorite wintertime activity! 🙂
De-lurking to say: hi!
We've finally got snow here and it is so beautiful!!! I'm not much of a winter sport person as I didn't really grow up with it, but I love taking walks when it is slightly chilly, no wind and hopefully the sun peaks out a bit. It's just so beautiful!
Now ask me about the winter in another month or so, I'll be disliking it much then. hahaha
Hi Heather! Great to *see* you here! Thank you for de-lurking and sharing what you your favorite part about winter is. Glad you finally got snow there too! I too love to walk in the snow on a not too cold or windy winter's day. I also appreciate how after some time goes by the magic of winter melts away and the snow and cold can get old. Thanks for checking in!
"Present." And now I feel like an Illinois legislator….
Ha, ha… Thanks for checking in Mar. 🙂
Hi! I'm kind of a newcomer to your blog so I don't comment very often – but I am reading along!
It doesn't really snow where I live right now, but I love cross-country skiing and have some lovely memories of that.
I found your blog quite some time ago and check in frequently but only rarely comment because I don't feel like I belong here. I'm childfree by choice and a non-practicing Catholic and we seem to be opposites on so many things but I enjoy your writing so I return. 😉
My favorite wintertime activity (Denver, CO) is to bundle up and take our dogs for walks around the neighborhood. Snow and ice transform the most mundane details into works of art!
projectprogeny – Welcome and thank you for reading! I also appreciate you de-lurking to comment on this post.
I am glad that you have good memories of cross-country skiing. I have only tried it a few times, but really enjoyed it when I did.
Thank you for commenting RoseAnn! I really appreciate your candidness about you checking in often, but why you don't comment more often. I appreciate and also am sorry that you feel like you don't belong here. But I get your reasoning and am flattered that you enjoy my writing enough to return and read anyway.
I respect your decision to be child-free by choice, as well as being a non-practicing Catholic. Just because we are opposites on many things, doesn't mean we can't learn from each other. I always try my best to be open to different points of view. So please feel free to comment anytime, even if (especially when) you don't agree with something I have written. I like hearing other people's perspectives on things and believe that very little in life is black and white, but rather many shades of grey.
Thank you for sharing about your favorite wintertime activity too! I agree about what snow and ice can do to things that usually don't look as beautiful and interesting.
Hi Kathy, I'm here. : ) When it's really cold outside, I like to stay indoors where it's cozy & warm — maybe on the sofa with a cup of tea & a good book! : ) Speaking of which — I found "The Magic room" at the bookstore the other day & immediately scooped it up! : )
Thanks for commenting and sharing what you like to do when it's really cold outside Loribeth! 🙂 A cup of tea and a good book always works for me too. Can't wait to hear what you think about "The Magic Room!" I hope that it lives up to your expectations, now that I have built it up so much. 🙂
