What do limericks, inspiring families and “voices of the year” have in common?

They are the themes of three different contests that I am participating in!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Though I don’t love asking you to vote for me/my blog in these contests, I very much appreciate when you do support me and my blog in this way! If you have the time, interest and willingness here’s the scoop:
1) For the second year in a row I am participating in Lori’s Limerick Chick Contest. Last year I was honored to be the winner and am excited to have written another limerick about one of my blogging friends for this year’s competition. Round 1 began this morning and you can click here and vote between now and Wednesday, March 7th at 7:00 a.m. (MST), when the poll will close. Here is my 2012 Limerick:
For years she was known as Calliope,
designing mastheads and caring for Mille.
When W was born,
mothering became her new norm.
Dresden ditched her alias and felt free.
Again, if you like it and want to Sham-ROCK vote for it, please click here  to do so. Thank you! ♥
2) As I shared about in this post, I am in the running for the Circle of Mom’s Top 25 Moms with Inspiring Families 2012 list. You can vote for me by clicking here  and then clicking on the orange thumbs up button once a day on your computers and smart electronic devices between now and Wednesday, March 7th at 4:00 p.m. (PST).
Thanks to your many clicks in support of me and my blog, I have managed to make it all the way up to #38! There are only 13 spots and about 150 votes keeping Bereaved and Blessed from being in the Top 25 this year. So I am very grateful for anymore votes that you are willing and able to cast for me and my blog between now and late afternoon on Wednesday. Thank you! ♥
I'm going to BlogHer '123) As a Chicagoan, I am accustomed to “voting early and often,” and if you are not tired of voting for my limerick and me/my blog, well then I have another opportunity for you to show me some voting love! This last one is the easiest, because you can only vote once between now and the end of April! I nominated one of my favorite blog posts from last year, Bereavement and Social Media, for BlogHer’s 2012 Voices of the Year in the OpEd category.  If you have a BlogHer account/username you can vote for my entry by logging into to your BlogHer account and then clicking here and giving my post a thumbs up! Thank you! ♥
The BlogHer panel of judges will choose up 120 posts in a total of six categories (up to 20 in each category). There is one people’s choice winner in each category (that is where the votes come in). Also, 15 of the 120 will be asked to read their blog entries live at the BlogHer Annual Conference this August in NYC. Did I mention that I am going this year for the first time?! I realize the “blog bling” I included above here may have tipped you off! 😉 I am so excited and look forward to sharing more about that with you soon. In the meantime, it would be a great honor for me and my post to be picked to be a 2012 Voice of the Year and even more awesome to get to read it in front of my peers (including my sister Meg, who will be there too, and hopefully some of you as well) at BlogHer `12 on Friday, August 3!
Thank you so much for your support and voting early and often for me in these three contests! Bob has teased me this weekend that I should volunteer to be a precinct captain in our neighborhood here in Chicago, since I am getting so much practice soliciting votes! 😉 But I promise you, when all three contests are over, I will gladly return to my normal blogging life where I focus my writing on things that muse me and I hope you will find interesting to read and comment about as well. Thanks again for reading and for voting!
Also, a friendly reminder that there is one more day to enter my giveaway celebrating my new space here at Bereaved and Blessed. There are five prizes (things that have helped me on our journey through infertility and loss) and five ways for you to enter to win one. One of the prizes (Conquering Infertility: Dr. Alice Domar’s Mind/Body Guide to Enhancing Fertility and Coping with Infertility) has not been picked by anyone in their entries yet, so the odds of winning it are still very good! ;) If you know anyone dealing with infertility who might benefit from having a copy of this book, please encourage them to enter my giveaway or you can enter yourself and give it to them if you win. I would really like for someone in the midst of infertility to read it. ♥
Click here  to read my inaugural post, find out more about the prizes I am giving away and how to enter for a chance to win. I will announce the winners here on my birthday, this Tuesday, March 6th! I hope you had a great weekend and wonderful week ahead!
Thanks again for Sham-ROCKIN’ the vote for my limerick, me/my new blog and my Voices of the Year entry! xoxo
