I just spoke with a nurse from our OB’s office and found out that I am gestational diabetes (GD) free (at least for now)! My results were 83 and the nurse told me that under 140 is considered normal/a negative result. She also explained that they will test me again at about 28 weeks, but so far, so good. This is a huge relief for me, as after being diagnosed with GD towards the end of my pregnancy with Molly, I was not looking forward to the idea that I might have to try to follow a GD diet again if the test came back positive.
I also wanted to let you know that our baby’s fetal echocardiogram is scheduled for late in the day on Wednesday and afterwards Bob is taking me to dinner and to see one of my favorite musicals, Rent (for the third time), as a belated birthday gift. I am very excited because two cast members from the original Broadway production Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp are going to be performing that night the roles they originally starred in respectively playing Roger and Mark! So I may not be able to post an update about the echo until Thursday.
We are hoping and praying that all will be well with our baby’s heart and that we will not be returning for regular echos with this pregnancy. It is surreal to know that almost a year ago, on April 9, we had our last fetal echocardiogram for Molly before she was born and died eight days later. Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, thoughts and prayers.
