Living here in Chicago, which is located in currently one of the most politically corrupt states in our nation (you may have heard about our governor), of course I am all about stuffing the ballot box…
So please join me in voting daily from now through Tuesday, January 13 for Melissa, our very own Stirrup Queen. Mel is a finalist for the 2008 Weblog Awards under Best Medical/Health Blog. You can vote daily by clicking here and then clicking on Stirrup Queens (two clicks; that’s all you have to do). Go ahead, click on the above link and vote for Stirrup Queens…. I’ll wait and then you can read the rest of my post when you get back.
As other bloggers have shared voting for Mel/Stirrup Queens serves two awesome purposes:
1) To give Mel some much deserved credit for everything she does for our ALI (Adoption, Loss and/or Infertility) blogging community.
2) To raise awareness about our blogging community as a resource for those going through ALI who might benefit from our support and for those who want to learn more about what it is like to be touched by ALI.
Mel said it best in her post announcing her nomination:
I am really proud to be part of this community. I don’t want to be quiet about it….I want to talk about our corner of the blogosphere with the general public. I want people to know that there is this whole world out there–at least 1600 men and women–writing about their experience and if they want to know what it is like to be infertile, all they have to do is click down the blogroll and read a few blogs. We’re setting it all out there if anyone cares to learn.
Thank you for reading, for voting and for supporting both Mel/Stirrup Queens and our ALI community!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🙂
