I thought that today I was 5 weeks 6 days pregnant, with an estimated due date (EDD) of June 27, 2008… But it has come to my attention that it appears I miscalculated my EDD by one day and thus it is actually June 28, 2008. So today I am 5 weeks 5 days pregnant! 🙂 Not that one day really makes that big of a difference, but I do like to be as accurate as possible with these things… 😉
They funny thing is that if I look back at my earlier blog posts during this FET cycle, I predicted my EDD would indeed be 6/28/08. But then at some point in the first few days following our news that the Beta blood test was positive, I thought that I had been wrong when I originally came up with that date and thought it was 6/27/08, when actually I had it right in the first place! 🙂 Did you catch all of that?
In case you are wondering why it can be confusing, a “normal” pregnancy is typically dated from a women’s last menstrual period (LMP). However, in the case of an Invitro Fertilization (IVF) cycle, you date the pregnancy based on the date of the embryo retrieval (ER) for a fresh IVF cycle and add 38 weeks to that date. In a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) cycle, you count back from the date of the embryo transfer (ET) the number of days that are equal to the day the embryo was frozen on. So, since our embryo was frozen on day 5, after our August ER and our ET this cycle was on October 11, if you subtract 5 days you get October 6. If you add 38 weeks to October 6, 2007, you get June 28, 2008! Got it?! 😉
Anyway, just felt the need to clarify and share that it seems that our EDD is now Saturday, June 28, 2008! 🙂 So much for lucky number 27, but that’s okay, I am sure the 28 is somebody’s lucky number and maybe even our little miracle’s?! 😉
