Just a quick post to ask those of you who are the praying kind to please add one of my friends (whom I have mentioned here before), who also struggles with secondary infertility and happens to be trying IVF, to your prayers, especially over the next 10 days or so (and hopefully after that, the next 9 months).
She had her first embryo transfer today and they transferred two embryos (making her Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise, a.k.a. “PUPO”)! This is her second attempt at IVF, but with her first one though they were able to retrieve some eggs, they did not make it to the transfer. There is a lot more to her story, but in a nutshell this may be her last chance (financially) to have another natural child. Unfortunately, due to some genetic issues, they need to have expensive pre-implantation diagnosis preformed before their embryos are cleared for transfer and that is not covered by their insurance. For this reason, it is best that they only use IVF, along with the genetic testing, to conceive going forward, as conceiving on their own, even if they could, would be too great a risk to their potential future children.
So please pray for my friend that one or both of her little miracles stick and if they don’t that she will find the strength to make peace with it. I believe that prayers work and since she asked me today to please pray extra hard for her right now, I thought maybe I would call in a few more troops to help get our message up to God! 😉 I do believe things happen for a reason and I am hoping and praying that my friend will have success with this attempt at IVF! Thank you for your positive thoughts and prayers for my friend, her husband and their daughter.
While I am petitioning for my loved ones, if you have time, I have another prayer request please. A very close friend of mine, who is due with her third child in October, had some bleeding today. Though it did not last long, it gave her an understandable scare. She is 24 weeks pregnant and went to her doctor’s office, where they were able to find a heartbeat and confirm that everything seemed fine with her baby. She is on temporary bed rest and will return to her OB/GYN on Thursday for follow-up. It appears that my friend and her baby are okay, but just the same I know that she, her husband and their two sons would appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers, as well.
THANK YOU!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I guess once I start praying, and asking for others to join me, I get on a roll… 😉
Not much new to report here. Still anxiously awaiting our follow-up appointment with our RE on Monday (only 6 more days)! Sean continues to be on the mend. We stayed home and took it easy most of the day today and then attended one of his best friend’s 4th birthday parties this afternoon, where he had a blast playing with his neighborhood friends, as did I catching up with my mommy buddies! Tomorrow we will head up to Evanston for two days to celebrate the 4th of July and spend time with my family and then on Thursday we will go to Bob’s parents’ and uncle’s summer home in Michigan to celebrate and spend a long weekend with his side of our family! I hope that you and yours have a wonderful holiday week! And to my friend out there, who follows my blog and shares her birthday with our nation’s independence day, I hope you have a wonderful birthday! 🙂 Though, I may not check in again before our appointment on Monday, if I don’t rest assured I will report back with all of the details that afternoon! Thank you for reading and for your continued support, thoughts and prayers!
