Signs Are Not Pointing to Success

Today I am 12 dpiui (12 days past intrauterine insemination/12 days past ovulation) and unfortunately things are not looking very encouraging. Last night I started spotting very lightly and this morning things have progressed to a heavier/more steady flow. I will still go for my Beta blood test this morning, but I will be absolutely shocked if somehow it turns out to be positive, as it really seems to me that my period is starting. I know all the stories of women who thought their period had arrived and then went on to be pregnant and have a healthy baby, but somehow I doubt that is the story here. Anyway, I will still post from Vegas this afternoon when I find out the difinitive results. Our plane is due in at about 3:00 p.m. (CST) and 1:00 p.m. (PDT — Vegas time). Soon after we arrive I will check my voice mails and/or should receive a call from one of the nurses at our RE’s office. I guess with the bleeding underway, at least I have a heads up that the signs are not pointing to success, at least this time around, and I can have an even more realistic idea of what to expect this afternoon.
