I did receive a voicemail on Friday afternoon that I did not need to return for monitoring until this morning (Monday), so Bob, Sean and I had a fun and relaxing weekend in Michigan and were able to stay until yesterday (Sunday) in the early afternoon, instead of having to come back early for monitoring that morning! 🙂 In the voicemail I also found out that my estrogen level that day (day 5 of stimming) was 435 and today I found out that Wednesday (day 3 of stimming) it was 151.
Today’s appointment (day 8 of stimming) went well. The office was usually busy and I didn’t get out of there until about 10:50 a.m. I am usually in and out in about 15-20 minutes when I have a 10:00 a.m. appointment. The ultrasound tech found 7 follicles over 10mm. They measured: 21, 20.5, 16, 16, 11, 11 & 11. There was also at least one other that was under 10mm. On day 8 of stimming last cycle there were also 7 follicles over 10mm. They measured: 19.5, 14, 13.5, 12, 11, 10 & 9.5. In addition to those 7 over 10mm last cycle, there were also 4 more under 10mm. So this cycle’s stimulation definitely seems to be going more quickly! My endometrium (lining of my uterus) today measured 10.5mm! 🙂 Last cycle on day 8 it was only 8.35. So I am happy about that, as the nurses have told me in the past that around 10 is prime for implantation and what they want it to get to, if possible!
The ultrasound tech tried once again to find my right ovary to no avail and said that if ever we were going to find it, it would be at this point in stimulation, as in theory if it had growing follicles on it, it would be more prominent. But she was not successful in locating it and believes that it just may have stopped working and essentially shriveled up over time. On the bright side, she said my left ovary is beautiful! 🙂
The bottom line for today, like last cycle, only a few days later along in the stimulation phase, is that there is a Plan A and a Plan B. I will get a call this afternoon letting me know which plan we will be going with.
Plan A: Trigger tonight (at an exact time they will tell me). Stop all other injectable medications. Report for my Egg Retrieval (ER) on Wednesday (June 13) morning (at a time I will be told this afternoon) and then the day 5 Embryo Transfer (ER) would likely be on Monday, June 18.
Plan B: Go in for monitoring appointment #4 at the River North office (at a time they will tell me, but most likely very early around 7:00 a.m.) tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. With this plan I would likely trigger tomorrow night, have my ER on Thursday (June 14) and my ET on Tuesday, June 19.
I will post after I get the call this afternoon and know which plan our RE has decided to go with! If I had to bet I would guess “Plan A,” since he has talked about taking the eggs earlier this time and last time he didn’t trigger until (day 10 of stimulation) when the follicles measured: 25, 22, 20, 18, 16.5, 16, 15 & 13. He told us in retrospect he wished he had taken them at least a day earlier last time and my current measurements are closer to those of the “day before” I triggered (day 9 of stimmulation) last cycle which were: 22, 18, 16, 15, 14.5, 14 & 13. Thank you for your continued support, thoughts and prayers. I will be back soon when I know the plan!
