We have an ETA for our ET! The Embryo Transfer (ET) is scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday) morning at 10:00 a.m. and we are to report there at 9:00 a.m. I am allowed to eat breakfast and was instructed to drink water on our way to the office, as I am supposed to have a full bladder for the procedure.
Bob got the call from RE’s office while I was out hitting some rummage sales with a friend this morning. As my dad said, when he heard I was out when they called, I just was following the u/s tech’s advice from last week that, when in doubt, shopping is good therapy for the stress and uncertainty of going through IVF! Bob asked the person he talked to from the RE’s office if everything was still going alright, or something to that effect, and the person said yes. I had assumed they wouldn’t call until after I got back from the rummage sales, so I hadn’t told him that I had wanted to ask if all 7 embryos were still dividing or at least find out if they were all still alive. Bob suggested that I could call back and ask if I really wanted to know. But I decided that as long as we know there will be at least one ready for the transfer tomorrow, I can live with finding out the status of his or her brothers and/or sisters later.
Tomorrow my parents are graciously coming down to be with Sean while we go for the transfer. They are most likely going to take Sean to the zoo, as I don’t think we are going to make it there today as we had considered at one point. So that should be a fun day for Sean with his maternal grandparents! I plan to take it easy for the rest of the day and maybe start reading Children of Men which the book club I am in is reading this month. It is a sort of ironic choice as from what I understand one of the themes is a world-wide infertility epidemic!
Well, I probably won’t check in again until after the ET tomorrow. We are very excited!!! It is hard and amazing for me to believe that if the procedure goes as planned that this time tomorrow I will be “Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise” (PUPO)! Thanks again for your continued encouragement, thoughts and prayers!
