The Letter of the Day is "L"

in Abby, Memories, NaBloPoMo

Lately Abby has gotten very verbal and, for two year-old, she speaks very well. However, she struggles to pronounce her “Ls” just right. When she uses the letter “L” in a word, if often comes out sounding more like an “LY” sound.

So when our little girl says words like:

“umbrella”

the color “blue”

or

“Pablo” (one of her favorite characters from the Backyardigans)

she sounds so unbelievably cute!

It took us a long time to get to this point, to be able to enjoy these little, buy very special, moments in our life with our daughter (after our five year journey through secondary infertility and loss), so I like to be able to take a step back to relish in them and also share about them here now and then. Thank you for indulging me.

I was in a bit of a funk this afternoon, that I have been trying to shake, and your comment (after I did a double take and saw how you spelled "like" with an "ly") made me laugh out loud! Thank you Jen! 🙂

Such a sweet post. Our little one turns 2 next month, and he doesn't get "L" at all yet. I can get him to mimic the sound with me.
Me: Can you say la…la…love?
Him: La…la…wub you! hehe

Sometimes, I think he's just screwing with me. lol

My daughter can't say the "l" either, and her name is V.alerie. So she calls herself "Panther." (She's 3)

Aramelle – Thank you and that is also so adorable what you shared about your almost 2 year old son! "Wub you" is too cute! 🙂

E. Phantzi – I think pretty much anything that comes out of our little ones' mouths as this age is cute! Thanks for sharing about your "Pather!"
