Three Weeks/Five Years

Three weeks from tomorrow (Thursday), if all goes well, we will get to meet our new baby girl. If she is born healthy, in theory we will get to bring her home a few days later.

Did I really just type that?

It’s been over five years since Bob and I started trying to have another living child, to expand our family and give our now almost six year old son Sean a sibling.

In that time we have rejoiced in the possibilities of and then mourned the losses of what ultimately became:

  • three angel babies (through two early miscarriages and our interstitial ectopic pregnancy)
  • two In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) single embryos transfers that didn’t stick (however those cycles did yield a total of 4 frozen embryos)
  • one IVF cycle that didn’t go well and was converted to IUI (it didn’t work)
  • our first frozen embryo transfer (FET) which did stick and grew into our daughter Molly who was born and died on April 17, 2008.

After all this time being “three of a kind working on a full house…” it is hard for me to fathom that we are finally on the verge of becoming “four of a kind” (with our queen of hearts in Heaven).

Am I dreaming? Or is this actually my life?

Time will tell…

A successful pregnancy after so much loss feels completely surreal (I remember). It must be an exciting and slightly scary time for you. {{{Hugs}}} and prayers.

I just caught up on your recent posts…

Continuing to pray for you and your family, with extra well wishes as Baby's arrival approaches.

LOVED the Indigo Girls lyrics you shared.

Still jealous you were able to meet Mel and other bloggers in person! 🙂

Thanks for re-capping your journey for us. Makes me admire your strength and determination to build a family. Hugs!

I hope the next 3 weeks fly for you! I love how you referenced Molly as the Queen of your Hearts! So appropriate!
