Dear Friends,

This update is being written by Jacquie & Kevin, Kathy’s parents and Megan, Kathy’s sister and Molly’s godmother. Kathy is recovering at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.

Kathy and Bob arrived at the hospital for the C-section at 7:30 a.m. Arriving later were: Sean, their son, brought by Kevin & Jacquie and Megan; Bob’s parents, Bob’s sister, Bob’s brother’s wife, Karen (“Now I lay Me Down to Sleep” bereavement photographer) and Kathy and Bob’s pastor, Fr. Bill, from their parish. We waited until around 12:30 p.m.–when a nurse came to take the photographer and their pastor to the delivery room.

Molly Marie Benson was born alive at 12:57 p.m. (4 lb., 10 oz.; 15.5 inches) and was immediately baptized by Fr. Bill. Molly left to go to heaven at 1:11 p.m.

Later, Jacquie took Sean into the recovery room to be with Kathy, Bob and Molly. Sean held Molly and gave her a picture he had colored for her and a pink teddy bear. Then we all went in and spent a grace-filled, tear filled, hug-filled hour holding and kissing Molly and one another. Our tears bound us together in a way beyoned description.

Kathy asked us to post this in her absence and she is, again, so grateful for all the love and support you have given her and all of us.

Love,

Kevin, Jacquie and Megan

You are such an amazing, wonderful family. I am grateful for the time you had with Molly and am saddened that her earthly visit was so short. Sending you hugs.
