Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from our family to yours! 🙂 Here is a picture of Sean dressed up as “little cook” Remi the rat from the movie Ratatouille!

Sean was not feeling well today and came down with a fever early this afternoon. However after some ibuprofen and a restful afternoon, he was determined to go trick or treating. We did make it to some houses on our block before he tired out. Bob even came home a little early from work so that he could join us!

In light of his fever we asked that my parents, sister and some neighborhood friends (whom we traditionally trick or treat with each year) not come over as planned, for we didn’t want to chance them getting sick too. But we will find another time soon for Sean to show off his costume and celebrate Halloween with them.

The past two days have been a whirlwind of Halloween celebrations for Sean and our family! On Monday we got together with our neighborhood playgroup friends for a party and yesterday we went to Bob’s parents house for a party with Sean’s cousins and paternal aunts, uncles and grandparents! Both gatherings were loads of fun and may have worn Sean down and out just in time for the actual Halloween holiday. Anyway, he still had a lot of fun over the past three days and even made it to his preschool Halloween party this morning before he came down with his fever.

Sean is sleeping now and hopefully will feel better tomorrow. I will be keeping him home from school, as we are not suppose to send him if he has had a fever within the past 24 hours. Unfortunately that means we will miss a field trip that was rescheduled from two weeks ago, due to inclement weather, to a local children’s farm. He had been looking forward to it, as had I — since I was scheduled to chaperone. Oh well, there will be other times and we can have a low key day together, resting here at home.

On the pregnancy front, at this point I think no news is good news… 😉 Today I am 5 weeks 5 days pregnant! 🙂 Fatigue and a general sense of queasiness has set in, so I am trying to take it easy as much as I can and snack frequently (which seems to help the nausea). Only 5 more days until our 1st ultrasound on Monday, November 5! It continues to be hard not to let Sean know that he is going to be a big brother, but if all goes well he will find out soon enough.

Thank you for your continued support, positive thoughts, sticky vibes and prayers! I hope that you and yours have a very Happy Halloween however you choose to celebrate today!
