All You Need is Love

in IVF #2 (converted to IUI#1), Sean

So she (the “fat lady”) did start singing this afternoon when we checked into our hotel here in Vegas and I got confirmation (via talking with one of the nurses from our RE’s office that my hCG level was less than one (i.e. not pregnant). Since I had a heads up this morning with my period beginning, it was a lot easier to take than when I got “the call” regarding whether or not our first IVF cycle had worked.

Thank you for your kind words, virtual hugs and prayers, they mean a lot to me. Even though I wasn’t expexting our first IUI to be successful, it was still disappointing to find out that it didn’t work. We are hoping that with each failed cycle (be it IVF or IUI) that our RE is learning more about my body and what protocol(s) might give us our best chance at another natural child. Time will tell…

Meanwhile, Bob and I are having a fabulous time here in Vegas and the highlight thus far was experiencing our first Cirque du Soleil show “The Beatles – Love!”. It was amazing and inspiring to see how Beatles songs were interpreted and choregraphed into a multisensory display of dancing, acrobatics and awesome special effects!

The last song in the show was “All You Need is Love!” And that seemed appropraite tonight for me, to be remind that love IS all I need and I am very blessed to have so much love in my life right now from Bob, Sean, our family and friends. I am going to wrap up now, give Bob his Blackberry back and return to our vacation! I will probably not post again until we get home, as I want to make the most of our time here!

Thank you for reading and for your extra support on days like today, which as many of you who have struggled with infertility or have been close to someone who has know, can be some of the hardest to take. However, we keep going, we choose to keep trying, because we believe it can still happen someday. Goodnight and may God bless you and your loved ones.
